Ahem...

No one talks about it, but it happens to us all, all of us. You take a stance for or against something or someone. You...Gasps and widens eyes-well one eye, the other is all frellin' pink and yucky! Bob forbid, admit to a passionate dislike for children, animals, cupcakes or yoga. You like Glenn Beck, Sarah Palin, Michael Vick or low-waisted skinny jeans, whatever it is you've done it and woke up the next day to find you've lost a follower. Or, if you're particularly neurotic- Clears throat, looks over both shoulders and leans in closer to keyboard-yeah I don't know why either, but that's how I type a "secret".-you check your followers and F5 all day after defending the rights of Nadya Suleman. Much like the in/famously overused Hip Hop adage, "Bloggin' ain't easy."

I've lost followers before, and for the most part it has left me unscathed. Potentially loses a few more sensitive ones right there. And, I wouldn't exactly say that I'm scathing now, I mean...the timing is a tad inopportune and all, but I'll live. What bothers me most though, is wondering who the heck it was! I don't even care what I could have said, because chances are I'll say it or something like it again, but who are you AWOL follower? Are you a man? Woman? Are you tall? Short? Young? Young at heart? Do you have a moustache? I hear they're making a comeback. Shudders. Mayhaps you have a moustache of the menopausal variety? A mayonnaise moustache? Root beer float? Egg cream?! I understand these things, I'll make special provisions-just y'know come back damn it!

Okay good, it's done-there I said it. Now, I'll just obsess over whether they've read it! Laughs in delirium.

Peace, like seriously

CTHU! I'm there with you. It drives me nuts trying to figure out who stopped following me, who dropped me from their friends list, etc. I agree I don't really care why, just who. Oh, I need to get over this LOL.

Ahhh yes, the follower that ditches you. I've had it happen once or twice...also the lost heart on Etsy. You wonder what changed. I also secretly admire the ability to guiltlessly delete a person with whom you are no longer enamored. Like the clutter on my desk I keep e-connections with people should've let go of long ago. I get a little miffed at suspecting I was duped into a follow back, then dropped...used!! But then I read a funny comment or see sparkly things and I forget, ha!

pink eye? though i've never had it i know it *looks* unpleasant and must feel just as bad. wishing a speedy recovery!

ya know, subconsciously probably the reason why i don't have the follower gadget on my page: the potential for rejection. i don't like that feeling :-/.

well, whoever it is will missing out. sure, we all won't agree on everything, but your insights and ponderings (better words elude me right now)--not to mention your gift for composition--are remarkably enlightening.

at least you have followers! i have a few good friends who feel bad and read...leave comments here and there...

i resigned a few years ago to the i don't care/give a damn about followers club...but let's be honest..no one really talks and doesn't want an audience...i mean really.

i like to talk.

but all and all...i don't know how to follow who follows me so i guess i can't get too obsessed about this as i would probably like too...

either way..their lost...not yours!

This is funny -- I put up a post on Malcolm X and I think I lost a follower -- and it's not as if I have that many, LOL! I mean, I blog for me and would rather people who are interested in at least superficial discourse at the most to remain followers; so I'm okay with the loss. :)

I lost one a couple of weeks ago...they were probably bored. I can't help it. I'm boring. I lead a boring life. I could lie and write about exciting things and far away places. The farthest I go is to work. I wish it wasn't true, but it is. Don't get too rattled, but wouldn't it be nice if they commented and said, "I'm unfollowing you because......

It would make it so much easier.1

wow. RE FRESH ING. I like this post. I like how you call yourself The Queen Bee (that's what I am here in my corner of the desert). I have erased following blogs. It has never been because of 'a' post. I like to keep moving forward and I am very loyal to those who I have established relationships with and are moving in the same direction I am or want to be.

i look at it as sometimes people just begin to follow too many blogs and cannot keep up with the posts... seriously, i don't see how you could offend anyone... you've always been honest and that is what attracts people to you...

I'm reading! I don't always comment, but I'm reading (it's that keeping up with blogs thing, even my own, that gets me.) It was so funny that you mentioned the Nadya post--that's where I first found you (a year ago, really?) And so happy I did.

PS, my verification word is "nippinve" .

I've lost followers, and I don't care! If you don't like what I have to say then by all means please leave. I would rather them leave than leave a nasty comment.

I've stopped following blogs before. I'm sure I'll do it again in the future. Sometimes ya gotta clean house :)
