So they tell me it's a new year, new decade too, imagine that! I have been uh...what have I been doing? Uh, not a whole lot actually. Wait, that's not exactly true, I've been doing quite a bit of thinking: some abstract, some quite concrete. Huh, what's that you ask? Resolutions? No, none of that sort of stuff, just thinking...
All of this new talk is making me anxious. Everyone is losing weight, breaking habits, changing stuff around, clearing out debt, changing career paths, hair color, blah, blah, blah. I feel left out, although almost ambivalently so. It sort of feels like growing older and perhaps wiser although at the expense of the far more attractive, blissful ignorance of youth. So, the calendar changed, but I'm gonna sit tight just a bit longer and revel, uh... I mean think about this.

Peace in the moment

Sounds like quite the plan. There is no rule that says there is a specific date for newness, so you go right on ahead and take all the time you need to... think =). Beautiful journal btw, and I see you still have that fabulous pencil.
very very nice... i am just trying to refocus as i am feeling a new chapter beginning this year... same greys, same weight, same everything else... but hopefully a more aware way of approaching change...
Yes, take all the time you want:) I have never been one for New Year resolutions or venturing forth with the "new". I usually spend a lot of time thinking about all the things I am grateful for - and there is always a lot:):)
I like your plan better than mine. I am eating better and working out and cleaning out and organizing and spending less and if I can keep it all up for more than a week it will be a new record!!
I hear ya - I NEVER make resolutions as I've disappointed myself far too often to take them seriously.
Think away... to few people do these days.

Change is good and it can happen at anytime! Best done when you are ready
You're doing a wise thing. Take your time. I never liked using the New Year to correct bad habits. I think it just sets people up to fail and then feel even shittier. I like using the New Year to go inwards, reflect and meditate, (which for me means staring out the window or lying on the couch with my eyes closed.) After a while, new ideas for new paths to travel and explore pop up and I get a sense of where I want to go. No pressure.
Happy New Year to you. Thinking is a very good thing at this time of year.
Wow. Glad you popped over. I lost my linky 2 u somehow. Must have been during a binge...it's back now. Peace & Prosperity be your in 2010!

wishing you lots of creative goodness this year! :))
yep.
i'm over the cliche of it all.
revel on! :-D
I think that having a plan, any plan, any objective in life it is always important. Changing career paths and being continually searching to understand your purpose in life is something that anyone has to consider.
