Gratitude-when I think of things of which I am most grateful, nothing surpasses my marriage; the beginning of our story. Above are photos of mementos we've collected and stored in the trunk displayed in the first image. 1991: Our wedding guestbook. Left to right: Crab fossil from our first (and last) child-free vacation; symbolic as Joe and I are both Cancers. 1992: a lock of Jordan's hair from his first haircut over the bathroom sink. 1999: a love letter from my favorite guy on our 8th anniversary. Yes, we still write to each other; e-mail, text messages, cards and more. 2000: The cake topper I created for Yael's first birthday cake.
There are so many more cards, letters and other pieces of our history in the chest. Memories of times that were not always easy, but always worth it, and for this I am forever grateful. And you? Who what are you grateful for?

I like the idea of saving all your precious memories in a chest.
Ain't love grand?
How thought provoking. Even though I'm divorcing my husband I am grateful for what he has taught me in the past couple of years.
The first one is a literal 'shutter and click' moment and I loved the quoted by Khalil. It's a long time since I read him.
Greetings from London.
what a great idea! i had an elderly friend who put together an album/scrapbook of her friends and family from throughout her life--favorite places, favorite memories and she loved to sit and look at it and remember all the rich times in her life. i always thought that was pretty wonderful. i'm grateful for all the richness and compost of my life so far....;-)
What a wonderful blog! Thanks for sharing and thank you for commenting on mine. I greatly appreciate it.
Very beautiful. I love things like that. Yes, memories are powerful, but over time, they fade, get reconfigured. After all, they are re-memories. But to have an actual piece of history to go along with those memories is always priceless.
What a wonderful chest full of memories. I hope you will bring out more to share with us in the future, I look forward to it:):)
