I made these for my upcoming venture as a vendor at Crafeteria 3, and they were free! I found the idea for this cake stand style jewelry display on this blog. I used some pre-existing, orphaned, (not enough for full service) thrifted plates, saucer, bowl and brass goblets. I then secured them to one another with Liquid Fusion urethane and, "Voila"!
The pillows which will display chokers and necklaces were sewn by me (Pauses for applause) on the evil Singer with gifted fabric from a dear friend who knew I'd have use for several yards of her company's "free, ugly samples." (Note: "free, ugly" supplies of any sort is an oxymoron.)

Creating something new, from something old makes me feel warm and giddy inside. How about you; what did you do today to make yourself smile?
Peace

These are lovely and you're still using a Singer? Yes, you do deserve a round of applause.
Greetings from London.
You know I love these!
Kudos for tackling the Singer, too!
What a beautiful display for your beautiful work - nice up-cycling and re-purposing!
Now that is clever..not only clever, but beautiful..Good job.
Wow, those are really pretty!!! I love making something from nothing. Bethany had a really cute hoodie that was cream colored with a (faux) fur lined hood. The hood got a big stain on it that I couldn't get out so I just dyed it blue! Fur and everything! And then I stenciled a big scripty "B" in black on the back of the hoodie and voila! Apparently everyone at school thought it was awesome. I definitely patted myself on the back for that stroke of genius. I hope you do really well at the craft fair!!
Purty, purty! You're so creative... I envy crafty folks.
What made me smile today? Writing two pages of notes on a book I've been struggling to write... and, of course, my daughters' bus stop kisses.
How pretty. Actually the photos are elegant.
Very Very creative. I guess you've been rubbing the Topaz. I love it when I go to craft fairs and see really creative displays. I just recently sent my old sewing machine in to be serviced. I think flytie is giving me the urge to sew again.
Lovely upcycling! Best of luck at the show....you will definitely catch people's attention, which is the first step!
That is just brilliant!! Honestly, I love this ideal so much. Man, I really thought nothing could compete with your fab jewelry but this display is giving you a run for your money. I'm on a recycling, keeping it green kick so this is perfect for the holidays. Now you are sewing ish too?!! Damn, T. you are stepping up your craft game.
Good luck at the craft fair. I'm so excited for you.
That is so pretty! What a brilliant idea. I haven't done anything interesting today. Just work.
how lovely. :-)
nice job on the pillows. from what i can see of them anyway. *applauds*
seems like you and evil singer get along quite well.
best wishes in transporting it all.
uuummmm...aside from being glued to the couch reading articles and writing an annotated bibliography for a folklore class then sitting in front of the computer for a long period of time to type the thing, there hasn't been much action over this way. however, i must say that i'm quite pleased with what i turned out. that's certainly a cause for a smile. :-D
