Right Said Fred

With each passing day, the future and all hope for humanity becomes more bleak. Sigh.

What is the moment like that brings people to this?
What kind of brain suggests it?
I'm glad I don't understand.

I agree with both of you. Some have said it wasn't racist intent. Okay-even if it is purely a roast on the physical attributes of any slanted eyed individuals (grimaces)it's still in extremely poor taste. The war, the upcoming elections, the olympics are all really taxing my ability to cope with humanity. Ugh.

I read about this on The Huffington Post the other day. Honestly, what are people thinking?!!! Even if it wasn't intended in a racist way (and I fail to see how that's possible), did they seriously not think that OTHER people would think that it WAS intended in a racist way? It's like that whole Don Imus "nappy headed hoes" comment. How could he not have thought that it would be seen as offensive, racist, bigoted, etc?!

Hi T.Allen-Mercado, I see you have three blogs, I have a hard time keeping up with two! Thank you for your visit, I'm adding you to my blog roll also. :)

Oh and about this post, I find as time goes on, more and more people are blind to what offends others. I remember when MTV did nothing but show good /clean music videos. The things they show now...

I think it's pretty clear that these folks weren't thinking at all.

In this day and age, when we are SUPPOSED to be enlighted, it boggles the mind all the stupid things going on around us.

I think that mind-numbing reality programming on tv, lack of moral fiber, and a fear of anything different is dulling people's senses, and sensibilities, as well.

Call me Pollyanna, but I long for a world in which we can celebrate each other's accomplishments AND differences as interesting and beautiful. Events like this one really hurt me when I hear them!

Those Spanish Basketball players are ignorant. Idiots. I personally believe that all racism comes out of ignorance and fear. Hopefully, time spent in Beijing will wake them up to how offensive their gesture really is.

Those photo were so very offensive. It's hard to believe in this day and age large groups of adults think that was an appropriate and/or funny way to take a photo.
