"Wow, mom! I bet she's been working really hard on that for like a really long time." Yael says, as I bumble through my knapsack in search of the camera. "I'm sure", I reply. Then, I try feverishly to get the angle right, a heap of hope for a shimmer of light, that I might capture the beauty of her glorious work. To no avail. Oh, but then it hit me, "Life is but a continuous search for an angle [5,6] ; rife with personal failures and feats." And, it was then that I smiled, depressed the shutter and walked away with more than just a great photo.
Peace

She appears to be fearlessly suspended in mid-air, flying high without effort. I like the image you created perhaps better than the reality of her long labor.
That is such a great photo!
Perfect
Nice post. Life goes on, now even richer than before...
As Ananse's daughter, I applaud you in discovering yet another lesson in nature. She, Mother Nature, has so many for us if we just open our eyes.
Peace.

Oh and thanks for giving us spiders a positive angle, I think it looks really cute on us....
She's a beauty all by herself, even if we can't see the fruits of her labors.
We have some spectacular spiders here in NC, and the webs they weave can reach across our yard. I have learned to take a flashlight outside so I see them before doing catastrophic damage to the web (and my own psyche!).
I love to read about your life lessons. Thanks for sharing.

of the many things i adore about your insight and depth is the way you can capture what would take others pages to write and share the thought in just a few perfect sentences... thank you ~

She's shooting the breeze and it must feel really good! =)
Love it!
Oh most wonderful! I've had a spider living in my doorway all fall - still there, huddled up against the elements, but I think it's web building season is well over. I tried to get a couple pics a few weeks ago but haven't had the guts to see if they turned out. I've never managed a bug photo as sharp as you've captured!
"Charlotte" perhaps? Wonderful quote, by the way.
Dang this is amazingly beautiful! Once again you make me want you as my ghost writer.
I had this same moment over the summer trying to photograph a spider's web but couldn't express it into words. Thank you for showing me the way, mistress of poetry :)
(this reminded me that i needed to go change "angels" to "angles" in my latest post.)
the spider gives me chills but i'm always in awe of the web.
wonderful photo, and hooray for lessons inspired by nature.
