Not Quite Twitter: 2

If you're new here, my first Not Quite Twitter Post was created to encompass all of the goodness of micro-bloggery under time/brain constraints and none of the social networking. Feel free to share your Not Quite Twitter moments in the comments or, grab my schmancy image and do a whole damn post! Ready? Let's tweet. (I know the jargon and all, it's like a cult I'm telling you.)

-This weekend I stepped out for some prom fang sharpening, er... I mean suit selection with the minion and offspring. It isn't looking good for the opposition. Tuxedo Counsel- or the Prom Orisha, as I have coined her, is on board with Team: His Momzilla. Her face has been omitted to protect the innocent.

-Pretty in Peace is closed temporarily while we pack! The Hive is relocating, not far from where we are currently. The move should be complete by May 1st. My posts will likely be sporadic until then.

-New from Moo! I added some of my art collages to my Moo calling cards images. You'll be seeing more original art and photography in my shop go forward.

-I'm an audio-bibliophile in the making. While the first run, McSweeney's Field Recordings Volume III was not the experience I'd hoped for, The Book of Night Women is captivating. Marlon James really does it with his novel of love, life and rebellion on a Jamaican sugar plantation. And the narration, the slow deliberate pace of Robin Miles really helps to set the emotive setting of this riveting tale. Get it in print, on Kindle, on MP3, just get it, you'll be glad you did.

-Kicking it old school: I've been on an old film kick, lately. I don't think you can fully appreciate a writer's brilliance until you challenge his relevance across decades. I just saw Being There, the 1971 Jerzy Kosinski socio-political satire on film starring Peter Sellers and Shirley MacLaine; loved it! Politics is not my thing, but the sociological aspect of the film is brilliant. If you have Netflix, it's available for instant viewing.

What have you been up to?

Until next time, Peace

I've been up to not believing it's already Wednesday and I've barely had time to look at my e-life. I'm not even sure why. I've also been up to hoping for miracles. One little thing did come through...my baby is going to an awesome camp so I'm happy and relieved about that...now for this other thing!!

You're not moving are you? I like the concept of the post as I refuse to "tweet".

Sounds like prom is just a dress-rehearsal for weddings, and from your experience alone, I am scared of both. You know I don't like anyone else's opinion but mine, and I'll share my boy with no one! Hehehe

Back at the yoga studio and loving it. My very first teacher is no longer using aromatherapy oils (asthma attack--yikes) and so I am studying with her again. So attentive and encouraging....

Son #1 is open to talking with folks about advice on travel plans. He's maturing!!!

Daughter is a companion "in crime" in trying to coax info from niece -- is her relationship serious?! Could a family wedding (first) be in our future. Having a daughter is too fun!

Son # 2 is enjoying his senior year and so are we (from a suitable distance). Prom drama is around the corner, but hopefully less drama and more prom than you're experiencing!

Tweet, tweet....

I wouldn't even know where to start in a not quite twitter post.... I tend to ramble ON about each and every daily thing that happens around here.... so I just do complete posts with pictures! ;)

If I have to 'Twitter' too, I think my brain will explode...I'm lucky to get my blog in gear...this spring thing is pulling me outside the minute the peeps start...are the birds twittering to me perhaps...but at least the corn and beans are planted...methinks I ramble too much to twitter...

Hubby and I were over here trying to figure out who the minion is? We've guessed that it's the prom date? Is that right? Inquiring minds want to know.

Keep me up to date on all moving do's and don'ts. We are planning our escape from Atlanta, after the baby comes (After Oct.) So far I've begun selling off excess junk on ebay, and it's brought me some nice change. Next go some furniture on craiglist.

Good luck with your move!

Hummm... what have I been up to?

Well, I've been addressing graduation announcements and STILL trying to figure out just how best to gather everyone for a dinner and speech type thing after one of the ceremonies.

I've been having a very "interesting" time with my new "happy pills".

My Ex (not to be confused with Miss J's dad) is becoming a not-so-Ex.

And I got an A on my midterm... YAY me!!

Good luck with prom... I can't wait to see pictures.

Good luck with the relocation project. See you when you return.

I am so glad that the prom dilemma has been solved. It is hilarious that you have a photo of the back of the heads to protect the "Not so innocent."

LOL @ Prom Orisha!! And thanks for hipping me to that read. I'm an audio-book fan myself, and will definitely be checking it out.

As for me, I'm going toe-to-toe with my patience demons these days. Winning some and losing some, and learning in the process.
