I like old stuff and I can not lie...

Tuesday's thrift shop score, project du jour; a $25, too-short-for-dining-too-tall-for-coffee- we'll-use-it-for-reading table. The first two pics are the before shots, taken in the middle of the local Goodwill store, under the watchful, wincing eye of the Favorite Guy. He dreads "smelly, dirty, old junk stores". The third WIP pic was taken yesterday as I gleefully wrapped up two days of stripping and sanding. Will you look at the brass! I sanded away all of the scrapes and scuffs. I'm not a fan of shiny though, so I'll use some jewelry antiquing tricks as a final touch. Tomorrow is fang sharpening...er I mean tuxedo shopping; if I make it through without incident, I'll begin staining. How about you, whatcha doin'?

Peace and productivity

Wow...nice table, I cannot wait to see the end results! I love scouring the shops for furniture like that....I am up to dreading going outside and cleaning out the awful garden that I neglected last year due to spending wayyyyyyy to much time at the photography studio that I was working for (it was Senior portrait summer and I spent time outdoors sometimes until 7 shooting outdoor portraits). Have fun shopping for the tux!

Love the round shape, and that base. I also can't wait to see how it turns out. Oh, it looks like everyone else said that, too. (ok, I'm not original, but your table will be)

I visited 3 resale shops today and did awesome. Got all kinds of old things to turn into new things for MyOtherShop! So much fun. Love the table!

As someone with more than one storage unit, I can relate to the liking of old stuff...

Thought you might be interested in TV Turnoff Week. Unplug Your Kids (www.unplugyourkids.com) has issued a blog challenge, which I've linked to on my blogs.

Less tv = more time to buy old stuff!

WOW! Cannot wait to see the finished product! I'm staining today, too! Except.... I'm staining a lil' picket fence purchased to keep dogs out of bushes that were just planted last year... in hopes they will survive (without the trampling happening around them)! Happy STAINING!!
