Oftentimes I have these dreams, vivid, fascinating dreams (a regular occurrence for the HSP) that end all too quickly, and often incomplete. I often wonder what- if anything, to make of these fleeting moments.
I have this dream- a rather vivid and fascinating one; one that is also most certainly incomplete. I wonder about that too. Perhaps, my understanding or lack thereof is limiting. Perhaps the dreams and dream are indeed complete manifestations of fleeting incompletion.

Maybe you get to choose your own endings...or maybe they just aren't meant to end.
Y'know Kathy...I'm sure the latter is true...I must learn to live in the moment.
I dream that I'm skinny....does that count? lol
I have experienced this at times, too... sometimes the dreams are SCARY, sometimes FUNNY, sometimes CONFUSING, sometimes TOO TOO REAL! And almost always, the dream ends before it should (unless its scary and I'm OK with that!)!
very perplexing - dreams are in general, right? but the lack of resolution and your musings upon that are thought-provoking... are they merely meant to be stimuli for you to ponder? are they flashbacks or forward? or, as you point out - is the open-endedness meant to be there... is that in fact, the resolution... the whole 'what you think, you will become' theory... showing you that finishing your open-ended question (like in school) can create a reality for you... i don't know... but thank you so much for sharing that... maybe i really went on with this because i am noticing (in my waking hours) the presence of a subconscious effort to force a certain growth and purging..
p.s. thank you for the link to hsp!
I like the idea of choosing your own ending...actually I LOVE that idea...must ponder this more...

I haven't had a dream in quite a while... I'm feeling left out here =)
I heard of "active dreaming". You can head your dream in a certain direction. Good for children who are scared of bad dreams. So they can give the dream another way. Tried myself and sometimes it works out.
dreams baffle me as well. i really love them though, and mine are usually incomplete and leave me wanting more.
you know, i'm not sure if you did this intentionally, but in reading your last line, not only did the type of dreams we have during sleep come to mind, but also the dreams we have for our lives. our goals, i suppose.
either way, the last line of your post is fitting.
